Hello,
I know that it is sometimes good to have a space where people can send messages and ask questions. This is that space. Please feel free to share you ideas, ask questions or give me an idea for a post. I’m always looking for ideas.
Thanks,
Kelly

Kelly,
PLease send me some info on your book club:
brian_saxton@pvusd.net
I’m interested in the wiki.
I hear you are wanting to start a discussion on the book “A Whole New Mind” by Daniel Pink. I am going to start reading it in the next couple of weeks. My campus has been reading it across departments and our district administration is reading it now. I have been reading other books but have freed up the next few weeks to commit to the book and a book study.
Thanks!
Kelly,
I thought you might be interested in checking out our Children’s Book Podcast Just One More Book!! — a podast about the children’s books we love and why we love them.
Through this podcast and its website, we are building a lively, interactive community linking children’s book authors, illustrators, readers (parents and children) and publishers.
Busy parents and educators can now discover great read-aloud children’s books while they are busy doing the many tasks that would otherwise rob them of the opportunity to research great children’s books in more traditional ways.
I hope you will stop by and give us a listen and, perhaps, spread the word.
Andrea
Hello! I was wanting to see if you could e-mail me and if you might be interested in being an expert reviewer to give our Horizon Project Team on the future of massive multiplayer gaming some feedback on or around April 23rd. I can explain more offline but the project is at http://horizonproject.wikispaces.com
We really would love to have some of your insight!
Hi Kelly,
Could you email me? I wanted to talk about LeaderTalk.

Thanks!

Hi Kelly,
I left this reply to you on Scott McLeod’s “top edublogs” post, but will put it here too:
Kelly, I visited your blog. If you want to connect some students and form the core of what will hopefully become “learner talk” to add to our chorus, please, please, please contact me.
It’s only going to move forward when we push it.
And I think the key is persuading only the willing parents of the natural student bloggers to help us promote this. Talk about a “digital portfolio” – how many college applicants will be able to point to a “high-ranking learnerblog” on Scott’s list? (Hopefully higher than the highest ranking adult edublogs!)
Please drop a line and thanks: clayburell [at] gmail [dot] com. I’m in Korea, with some very sharp learners

I just discovered a list of principals who were on Scott McLeod’s list of bloggers. My blog is slightly different, but I would like to share it and hopefully cross promote with other principal’s blogs. Please visit my site and see what you think. I am also looking for participates for our brand new Forum.
Thanks- http://www.principalspage.com
Hey Obi wan,
I need instruction on the ‘force’.
Padajuan learner.
So! Long time no see/talk/any form of contact what-so-ever. Not sure if you remember me much, but I was a student a few years back in good old Weyburn. I’m just seeing if I can get in contact with you again, I have some developments I’d love to share with you, and something great to thanks you for as well. Send me an email to m_235@hotmail.com some time and I can let you know the impact you’ve had here!
Kelly,
This may seem like a strange question, but it isn’t. Just got an email from you about Linkedin. Did you really send it or was it sent by someone else. This happened to me with Facebook. I checked with the person regarding Facebook ,and he didn’t know anything about it so I’m just checking in case the same thing happened.
Got Twitter? I’m trying to keep up with other educators/administrators. Mine is twitter.com/rickscheibner.
Kelly,
I’d like to add you to my professional network on LinkedIn.
I would also like you to join the International Educators Group.

Kelly,
Discovered your meeting with high schoolers to find the effective program and have posted the four characterisitcs on my web blog http://www.jamesevers.com/?q=blog/1
and on my ODE Magazine blog http://www.odemagazine.com/groups/teachers_roundtable
Would welcome hearing from you about the follow up to this work. I’d like to include it in the revision of my book Crisis in School Management, a call for collaboratively democratic school management.

Here is the “deleted scenes” from my response to your post on DI. I wanted to keep it concise and not try to compare my situation to yours. After re-reading, however, I just thought you may like to know that others are frustrated and feeling a little overwhelmed too.
Passion…what else is there for a child.

My position does not ask me to teach in a classroom at this time – who knows the future… However, due to re-structuring and downsizing of positions, I am one of four people that SHARE an Activities Director, and as HS principal that lands in my realm a lot. Scheduling (the biggest part) is on our Superintendent, and two other administrators from our MS and ES have duties as well. Much like you, I see things that need to be done and it weighs on me more than others, and so I DO them instead of share it out. Easier, quicker, done. Long-term, not probably the most effective personally. In addition, there are other positions around my building and the district that I seem to find more personally reflective than others or can see that we are short-handed. My belief is that I am responsible for everything that happens in my building, so if it isn’t getting done, I need to address it and make it work – sometimes that means I take the position until a replacement is made.
I say this just so you know you aren’t solo, and it can be done. Several anxiety attacks and sleepless nights ensue, but it can be done. Also my approach to getting the “my time” is different. I am a morning person, and 5-7 am has proven to be a good time for me generally. I also like 4-6 before the home or away event. This is actually when I do my “work” and the rest of the day I am with staff, faculty, and kids. Although we still do paperwork occasionally, it allows me to roam, drop into classrooms, and enjoy the people around me.
You just need to find your niche and be happy with it. My family (wife who works 1/2 an hour away and three kids in school) don’t see me a lot outside of school, but we have made it our hub of activities as much as possible.
You have done your thing, and you know you can. We all hit a wall of doubt at times, but you can scale it.
How can we become part of your wiki? http://www.43marks.com
It’s a free customizable bookmark site. We give you a unique URL (43MARKS.com/username) where you can upload bookmarks that are of interest to the class your teaching. You can have unlimited pages one for each class or project. The page becomes a great source because you have all the relevant websites on one page. We are also advertising free, no banners, no pop ups.
43marks.com comes with some bookmarks – But after you create your free 43marks.com page you can delete all the default bookmarks and upload just the bookmarks you want
