I absolutely love what you did here by involving the students. In every school I've been in, teachers complain about the cell phones, expect the administration to handle it and then do nothing when kids have them. If you came to our school and conducted that same exercise, I would venture to say that our kids would come up with similar solutions and would likewise point out that the rules have to be the same for everyone and have to be enforced by all. Nice job--let them be part of the solution. I think I would enjoy working with a principal like you!

Looks like you have started on some exciting initiatives. I a way, this can be termed as a "renewal."

When our students developed our cell phone policy with us, they agreed that their was not a great educational value in using them. This has maybe changed a few years later. However, when deciding on consequences, they (like yours) stated them and wanted teachers to follow through.

Keep up the good work!
