As everyone knows, plans need to be flexible and it is always a good thing to have ideas about what one can do. As summer approaches, things are always changing. It looks like I may be even busier building houses than I thought! However, I do plan on planning a year-long series of workshops that I will present throughout the division focusing on the use of web2.0 tools. I will also be revamping my CPT courses and doing some reading. I find that after a day of physical labour, I can sit down and read and focus. The two work hand-in-hand for me. But who knows," the best laid plans of mice and men....."

Man, I'm exhausted reading your summer schedule. I need that nap right now.

As for me, a family vacation to the east coast for a wedding is in the offering, coupled with lots of time with the two kids, learning to swim, hanging out at parks, and enjoying some good reads.

Professionally, I plan on doing a lot of thinking and reading around our staff development goals for the coming year. My hope is to be a much more effective instructional leader for my teachers by carefully planning the approach to teaching teachers. I wholeheartedly agree that the "time off" should be redeemed by gaining new skills, and improving on old ones.

Bring on June 15th!!!

Whew--I thought I had scheduled myself for a busy summer.

I'm also hoping to catch up on some reading. I'm reading Everything is Miscellaneous right now--it has a lot to say of interest to librarians, thus far.

I've also been realizing as things taper off a slight bit that I am seriously in need of some R and R.

I found after a 2 1/2 day weekend this past weekend, I was able to think and ponder things again and write some reflections about this last year.

I do think that we have to remember the power of play and the power of time with people. (although with seven kids, I'm sure you don't have to be reminded of that!)

I do think while there is so much I want to explore and read, and conferences to attend(NECC!), I also need some downtime to refresh my thinking, and open up that well spring of enthusiasm.

As Stephen Covey says, we have to sharpen the saw.

I'm looking forward to having time to explore things with fewer interruptions and requirements on my time, especially. That is relaxation to me if I can follow a thread I am curious about, play with some new software, and explore.

But I too plan some camping or somewhere without phones or internet for a few days! The beach is looking good....

Summer plans? Hmmm.

Well, I plan to engage in some serious reading. I have a stack which keeps getting taller.

I also plan to teach myself how to use a video camera, create a slide show online, and make movies. My goal? To introduce my students to multiple literacies using film.

Last, to relax, take care of myself, and spend time with friends and family that the daily grind has not allowed me to see very often, if at all.
