Posting Frustrations

March 21, 2007 · 1 Comment

Well, I’ve run across posting problems again. I don’t know what to do. Please check out the post here for all the links that I included. I will update here later.

What a great and thoughtful post!

I’m not an administrator, but as a member of a campus staff, I think you are completely on target. Sometimes you do have to tell people the new tool is the way it’ll happen, and then provide the incentive and leadership and encouragement.

I find on our own campus as a librarian that though we are starting to use blogs and wikis and some web 2.0 tools, teachers are perceiving them as another “step” unless it fits in coherently into their lesson and in that case, some of them are eager to try the tools.

What’s happening with web 2.0 tools reminds me of when we were first truly requiring all teachers to use computers years ago. It seemed agonizingly slow as people adopted technology. Now all of our teachers have a website, do their grades and attendance online, log on from home, post their assignments, etc.

It will happen. And then it’ll be hard to remember when people weren’t using these tools. (at least that is what I hope!)
